street from the I.O.O.F. Hall
Council
#14 Hayward was organized on April 23, 1898,
originally named, Council "Sao Jose" (St.
Joseph) Thirty five new members comprised the
newly established Council.
Organization took place at the I.O.O.F. Hall
'B' St. Hayward in 1898, a group of members of
Council 14 and Supreme Officers of I.D.E.S.,
hosted a champagne reception at the I.O.O.F.
Hall to commemorate the milestone, followed on
the Saturday of that week with a formal dinner
at the I.D.E.S. Hall "C" Street.
On February 14, 1901, the Oliveiras's deeded the
property at 1105 'C' St to Council #14. Building
of the hall began and two years later completed.
